The General Services Office provides a full range of support services for the Mission, supply, custodial, maintenance, rehabilitation, liaison with General Services Administration, conference assistance, VIP visits, housing program, inventory maintenance for expendable and non expendable supplies, procurement, contracting, receiving of property, new office building, motor pool, UN credentials, and diplomatic passports.This position is not eligible for telework. Duties -Assists incoming, eligible employees in locating residential property that meets U.S. government leasing requirements, their family or individual needs.-Provides advice to management and/or to prospective beneficiaries and landlords on housing program provisions and the responsibilities of both parties. -Under guidance, serves as an Area Custodial Officer (ACO) responsible for Receiving Operations and for conducting the Annual Physical Inventories;-Serves as the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) for the Copier Contract and Shredder Contract; arranges service calls for copiers and shredder and mailroom disintegrator; recommends replacements, contract modifications, and renewals of these contracts when necessary; and reviews and approves all invoices for accuracy.-In the absence of the General Services Specialist, manages issuance and delivery of supplies.

SBA ensures that these businesses have the tools and resources required to start and expand their operations, and create jobs that support a growing economy and strengthen America's middle class.  By applying for this position with SBA's Office of Disaster Assistance, you can enjoy challenging but satisfying work and join a highly motivated and diverse team that helps families and businesses rebuild their lives after a disaster.     You will serve as a Construction Analyst for the Small Business Administration (SBA), Office of Disaster Assistance (ODA), Damage Verification Center (DVC). The DVC is a group of fully qualified and trained SBA Construction Analysts who respond to disaster emergencies, often within 48 hours or less, throughout the contiguous United States (CONUS) and outside the contiguous United States (OCONUS). OCONUS locations include, but are not limited to: Alaska, American Samoa, Guam, Hawaii, Mariana Islands and Federated States of Micronesia. You will conduct on-site damage assessments to personal, real and business property that resulted from a catastrophe that was declared a disaster by the President or SBA. You will determine the extent of the damage, estimate the cost of repairs or replacement of damaged properties, and work primarily in disaster affected areas. Additional selections may be made from this announcement if identical vacancies occur within 180 days from the closing date.   IMPORTANT NOTES: · The salary range above reflects the employee's base salary. Locality Pay will be added based on the location of the employee's residence. · Your primary residence is considered your official duty station. · The Term Appointment does not confer competitive status, or reinstatement rights, on the individual selected. You may be promoted or reassigned to another Term position within SBA's Office of Disaster assistance; however, you may not be appointed non-competitively to another Federal position. You will initially be given a Term Appointment exceeding one year. If all other conditions of employment are met, this appointment may be extended, in increments, up to a total of four (4) years.· If selected, employees work on an intermittent (on-call) work schedule. This means that employees are in pay and duty status only when activated to respond to a disaster. When the disaster is over, employees return home in non-pay status until the next event that necessitates staff needed to respond.· You may encounter hazardous working and/or living conditions; i.e., no water or electricity and/or minimal lodging facilities. Travel expenses are compensated based on SBA policy and Federal regulations.· Mandatory Overtime: In order to respond quickly and efficiently to disaster victims, substantial compensated overtime hours may be required while on assignment (up to seven days a week and twelve to fourteen hours a day).· A valid driver's license is required.   Duties You will serve as a Construction Analyst in the Office of Disaster Assistance (ODA), Damage Verification Center (DVC) in Herndon, VA. In this position, you will perform on-site inspections of conventional type homes, businesses and other facilities built with commonly used construction methods, materials, and techniques. You will determine the extent of the damage and costs to repair and/or replace real property, vehicles, personal property, and other items. You will schedule appointments with property owners seeking assistance, answer questions at the inspection site, and prepare worksheets using automated software and transmit data electronically. Higher-graded positions involve providing oral and written instructions to other staff members.
